The research and discovery phase impacts all phases in the web development life cycle. During this phase, information about your business goals, target audience, competitors, and website content is gathered. Having a good understanding of your goals gives me the knowledge I need to build a product you will love!
With the information gathered in the research and discovery phase, I will determine the technology to use, define deliverables, create wireframes, build a sitemap, and estimate a timeline for completing your project. The sitemap is a flow chart diagram outlining the hierarchical layout of your website.
During the design phase, all the visual content will be created (images, icons, photos, videos, etc.). A color palette and style guide will be designed and implemented during the development phase. I will create prototypes to provide you with a visual of how your website will appear on mobile, tablet, and desktop computers.
During the development phase, I will develop the front end and back end of your website. The front end refers to the client-side application users see when they visit your website. The back end refers to the server-side applications and the database.
During the testing & deployment phase, I will conduct extensive testing to ensure there are no issues with the functionality, security, usability, compatibility, and performance of your site. Once all tests have passed, your site will be released into production.
The web development life cycle doesn't end after the testing & deployment phase. A website is like any other application, it needs to be updated regularly to provide a safe and secure environment for your users. Regular updates can also improve your site's performance.
