Arbor View Montessori School

Website Redesign & Development

Client

Arbor View Montessori is located in Roseville, California, and is a school dedicated to providing a like home environment for children to become self-directed and self-disciplined while developing creativity and a positive self-image. The primary goal of the Montessori program is to help each child reach their full potential in all areas of life.

Objectives

  • Increase brand awareness
  • Educate users about the Montessori method
  • Generate more qualified leads
  • Increase online enrollment
  • Create a more engaging site by improving the website aesthetics and user experience

  • Develop the new website utilizing the Drupal framework

Discovery

The client needed a complete redesign and development of the school's website to represent the business in a more clear and concise way, and to resolve issues with the existing architecture. During the discovery phase, I notice the site had a few issues:

  • It lacked a clear call to action
  • The design was not aesthetically pleasing or user friendly
  • The website was not responsive
  • The website did not implement SEO techniques to improve search engine rankings

The Solution

My approach to Arbor View Montessori School's website redesign was focused on improving the website aesthetics and content by focusing on modern visual storytelling with fresh content and photography. The solution was fully responsive to create flexible layouts that enabled users to easily view content on any device.

The website was built with performance in mind, to create a better user experience. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques were implemented throughout each page of the site to improve site rankings in search engines. The quality and quantity of traffic generated from search engines improved with the SEO efforts.

Bringing it all together

The home page has a clear call to action above the fold and in a beautiful slider to encourage users to enroll. Educating users about the Montessori method is a primary goal of the website. The Montessori method provides a unique education and curriculum, which emphasizes independence, freedom within limits, and respect for a child's natural psychological, physical, and social development.

To educate users, it was important to outline the curriculum and provide more information about Arbor View Montessori School on the front page. The curriculum was placed right beneath the fold with a brief description and links to view more detailed information on each topic. An about school section was also added to the front page to introduce the school and founder, with a link to more detailed information.

A recent blog was developed to keep users informed on the Montessori method and the school's current events. All posts are tagged with specific keywords to help improve SEO efforts and create links for viewers to view similar content.

Client Testimonial

April revamped the website for the Montessori business I own. The website she created couldn't have been better. The experience was great and the results were even better. April paid close attention to our goals and offered great suggestion to help us achieve those goals. She exceeded our expectations. She took our old website with outdated graphics, fonts, technology and seamlessly transformed it into a modern and incredibly attractive site that is driving great business. Not only is the website good looking, it also captures customer data, integrates all our social media and blogs, which drive our SEO. Additionally April crafted a customer engagement form that gives us immediate notice for leads.

Our revenues increase 35% as a direct result of April's work. She continues to maintain our website and keeps it updated and fine tuned. April communicates great and is wonderful to work with. She did not talk over our heads and explained the technology in terms we could understand and educated us along the way. I highly recommend April.
